Spring - get your plant on..

Cincinnati has been graced with some pretty awesome weather these last few days. Boy did the folks at Project Space need it.  We've been cook'n on some great ideas for simple quick creative projects ( Start to finish in 4 hours). We'll get to those more in depth in a later post.

For now we decided to get our planting on. A desire one of our members has had for some time was to have a little container garden. We suggested she start small with a few items. Deciding on Pole Green Beans, Cilantro, and Jalapenos we got to work planting our seeds in modest containers left over from other plants. To solve the "how to I label my seeds" dilemma we came up with a awesome mother nature recycle/ re purposing solution.

Remember the focus has been a complete project from start to finish in under 4 hours... This little ditty from planting to carving our plant markers and clean up....1 hour.

Tools:
Sticks: (Look for ones that could have also been good contenders for marshmallow
                    roasting)
Matt Knife ( Used for carving/shaving the wood)
Sharpie Marker: (Ultra Thin for writing)

To make your own plant markers first you need to find some good ol' fashion sticks. Use your best judgement for how long your markers should be.
Step 1: Find sticks

Step 2: Grab your trusty matte knife and carve away from you just enough to create a flat surface long enough to write the name of your plant on.

Step 3: Once you have shaved away enough of the stick to create a flat surface grab your sharpie marker and write out the name of your newly planted seeds.

BOOM- you are finished with the project. We weren't making it up when we said this was easy.

Check the results at our handy work.

Wow...it's been forever

No really it has. In fact only a few months shy of a year. We've been focusing on our sister blog rightbrainromance on wordpress and trying to figure out exactly what Project Space: Cincinnati is about.  Art and artists are what really make the world go round. It's the creative force behind the universe. At least we think so.

So to our followers we usher in the call. We want your feed back. We realize that we have far more followers on facebook. Perhaps that is were the energy should be focused or should poor our souls into the blog?  More images?  Or should we focus on one blog, the Project space blog or rightbrainromance, where we focus on the creative journey and inspirations of one artist.

We are also interested in the idea of guest bloggers.

We look forward to your feed back as we continue to re tool our focus. You are the informing voice or the next phase of Project Space: Cincinnati

Peace Love and Projects!

Were have we been?

Sorry for our silence. We've been busy researching new projects and making the blog bigger and better. We are an evolving project after all!

Don't forget this Friday is Final Friday down on Main Street/ Vine Street in OTR, Manifest has an awesome opening planned and Fringe is knocking at the door. Wow so much to do!

We are looking for ideas for projects. We are currently in love it the sketchbook project from ArtHouse co-op located in Brooklyn NY.  Check them out and join up!

http://www.arthousecoop.com/

We are toying with the idea of hosting a project that involves "leaving art behind" in the form of artist trading cards.

The idea is simple: create small works and disperse them with basic contact info on the back requesting that if they are found that the artist is simply notified. Like we said...we are still ironing this one out.  Hit us up with comments and feed back.

Peace, Love, Project

Photos sent in by Blog followers!

We JUST received these photos taken by Rod and Sandy over in Mt. Adams located east of Downtown Cincinnati.  According to Sandy they became Inspired by the John Twachtman painting shown below. Immediately they ventured out and braved the mini mountains of snow to create their own unique experience, resulting in these exciting photos.
You can see this painting at the amazing Cincinnati Art Museum located in Eden Park. For more information on this work go to http://www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org/
